My Mind-Blowing Florence News

Hurricane Florence, for some, was just mildly strong wind and constant light rain while for others it was a natural disaster. Houses were destroyed, streets were flooded, and a lot of lives were destroyed by what was called a monster storm and people who were affected are in need of help. For those who would like to help those who were affected Samaritan's Purse is a great international relief organization and they are currently taking donations. These people are in need of help and a little can go a long way if everyone chips in.

Compared to those on the North Carolina coast, I was extremely lucky. My family and I live only 20 miles inland in Moncks Corner ( 30 minutes northwest of Charleston) and we were the ones who only received the mildly strong rain paired with constant light rain. At the time of the storm, however, we believed that like North Carolina that we were going to receive the brunt of the storm so we prepared. We boarded up the bottom Floor windows, brought all outside furniture into the garage, made sand bags incase of flooding , and even bought a generator incase of a power outage. We were prepared for the worst when what we received was the best case scenario. It never hurts to be prepared and informed. That is what I did and that is what I encourage everyone else to do as well. So, whenever there is a storm headed  your way it is always smart to keep track by watching the local weather or going onto Channel 13's website were you can see live updates on weather near you.

I just want everyone to be prepared, informed, and be safe while for the people who are affected I hope they get the help and support that they need. Stay safe everyone, now and in the future and until next time I see dead people.
